Description
A combi-boiler does two jobs from one wall-hung cabinet: it heats the water that runs through your radiators, baseboard or radiant floor, and it heats tap water on demand, so there is no separate water heater or indirect tank to find room for. In the NCB-250/150H the heating side modulates between 14,000 and 150,000 BTU per hour, while the hot water side can fire anywhere from 14,000 up to 210,000 BTU per hour when a tap opens.
Navien rates hot water output at 8.4 GPM at 45°F rise; 4.9 GPM at 77°F rise. It is the largest model in the NCB-H range, for big homes with heavy demand on both heating and hot water. The boiler is 95% AFUE, with stainless steel heat exchangers, and it has powered connections built in for up to three zone pumps and three zone valves, which removes the separate zone controller many installations need. It vents in 2-inch pipe up to 65 feet, and it can be converted in the field from natural gas to propane.
This is a gas appliance. It has to be installed by a licensed plumbing or heating professional, following Navien’s installation manual and your local codes for gas supply, venting and condensate drainage. Please confirm sizing and fuel type with your installer before you order.
