Description
The NPE-240A2 is the A2 version of Navien’s NPE-2 condensing tankless range, and the difference is inside the cabinet: a small buffer tank and a recirculation pump. Together they keep a little hot water ready at the heater, which smooths out the brief cold slug you can get when a tap is switched off and on again, and lets the unit run a recirculation loop so hot water reaches distant fixtures sooner.
Gas input modulates from 13,300 to 199,900 BTU per hour, with two stainless steel heat exchangers recovering heat from the exhaust for a 0.95 Uniform Energy Factor. Navien rates flow at 11.2 gallons per minute at a 35°F rise and 8.7 GPM at 45°F. As the largest A2 model it is aimed at three or more bathrooms, large soaking tubs, or northern homes where incoming water is cold for much of the year. Venting runs up to 75 feet in 2-inch pipe, and a 1/2-inch gas line can serve it for runs up to 24 feet, which often saves re-piping on a replacement job.
This is a gas appliance. It has to be installed by a licensed plumbing or heating professional, following Navien’s installation manual and your local codes for gas supply, venting and condensate drainage. Please confirm sizing and fuel type with your installer before you order.
